Japan gunman kills himself after shooting three: report

TOKYO -- A Japanese man who claimed to be a member of an organized crime gang killed himself after shooting and wounding three people, Kyodo News said, citing police.

The man, Kenji Hayashi, holed himself up in a building in Yokohama near Tokyo after shooting the other three in a dispute over payment on a loan, Kyodo said. One of them was seriously injured, the report said.

Hayashi didn't respond to attempts by the police to contact him before he was found dead in the building, Kyodo said. A spokesman for the police in Kanagawa prefecture, where Yokohama is located, confirmed Hayashi's name, without giving further details.
